A Fierce Brightness : Twenty-five Years of Women's Poetry
Published in Hardcover by Calyx Books (February, 2003)
Average review score:

A Wonderful CollectionThis is an extraordinary anthology of women's poetry that is both a landmark and a cause for celebration.
Statistics indicate that at the end of the 20th century just a little over twenty percent of women were represented in major literary anthologies. This during a period when women were writing highly acclaimed works in unprecedented numbers and were receiving prestigious awards, such as the American Book Award and Nobel Prize for Literature, in all of the critically recognized genres. Thanks in large part to CALYX Books women writers are beginning to receive the recognition and honors they deserve. This anthology is the result of CALYX Books success in publishing first-rate women writers.
In all, there are 101 women poets in this collection and their range of subjects are as diverse as their talents and accomplishments. From the pens of Nobel and New York State Poet Laureates; American Book Award winners; a MacArthur Fellow; a Commonwealth Poetry Prize winner, as well as other prestigious award winners, the reader will find poems on such topics as family, wars, domestic violence, the female body, sexuality, nature and ecology, and a host of other issues that is sure to satisfy every literary taste.
These poems are powerful statements written by some of the best women writers in the world. The speak to, and will likely invoke, feelings of joy, sorrow, anger, despair, ecstasy, hunger, and hopefulness...sometimes all in the same poem. These are not the touchy-feely poems that sterotyped many women writers of the past. These poems are powerful statements that will introduce the reader to women's voices in "A Fierce Brightness."
CALYX Books is to be commended for making this collection available at such an affordable price. Highly recommended.

Final Vengeance
Published in Hardcover by Novelle Publications (04 March, 1999)

Riveting!! I couldn;t put it downI am a Sci-Fi nut when it comes to reading. I also like to read Tom Clancy and Stephen King. I came upon this book at Logan Airport on my way from Massachusetts to California. I read 3/4 of the book on the plane and couldn't wait to get to the hotel to read the rest. It's one of those books that is hard to put down. When I was finishing the book, I slowed down because I didn't want it to end. The book builds to a climax that even the most clairvoyant of us would not expect. Good Book!!

Average review score:

Thoroughly entertaining, recommended for pre-teens & teens. In Follow The Dream, Livvy Hudson is a promising young skaterlearning to like the small Colorado town where he dad relocated afterthe death of Livvy's mother. Her skating, with the help of a trainer, is improving all the time and her new friends in the "Girl's Only" club are a constant encouragement. Happiness turns to frustration, though, when Grandma Hudson (now living with them) begins to take too much control of Livvy's life. She's trying to run everything both at home and on the ice! Livvy's anger nearly reaches the boiling point when her grandmother surprises her with a secret -- one that Livvy is eager to embrace. Perhaps Grandma Hudson has had Livvy's best interest in mind all along! The fifth title in the Bethany House Publishers "Girls Only!" series, Follow The Dream is a thoroughly entertaining and engaging story for both pre-teen and teen age readers.

A Foreign Exchange Primer
Published in Digital by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. ()
Average review score:

The perfect forex primer!Although this book is primarily written for people that are clueless about foreign exchange (FX), it will actually teach the clued-up a thing or two also. The broad range of topics covered is what you'd expect to find in a book that is considerably thicker and more expensive - there's a detailed insight into the marketplace and its participants, the products (spot, forwards, swaps, options), fundamental vs. technical analysis, and more. The author writes in a concise, but extremely readable style and makes extensive use of pictures and diagrams. Furthermore, the book is bang up to date with recent developments in FX, such as the Euro and electronic dealing (that is, at the time I wrote this review). Finally, as an added bonus, this book is not overly biased towards the US or the US dollar, which I feel is especially appropriate for an FX book. Highly recommended!

French Painters, Russian Collectors: The Merchant Patrons of Modern Art in Pre-Revolutionary Russia
Published in Paperback by Hodder & Stoughton (February, 1996)
Average review score:

Russian Art Collectors from the "Merchant Aristocracy"Atlanta & Houston will host a travelling selection drawn from the Pushkin's holdings of these wonderful French Impressionists in the Spring & Summer of 2003. Most of these works were "condemned" by the Communists, hidden away for much of the 20th century. The treatment by this author, with many photos of rarely-seen but marvelous art works, is of great interest to Americans. The world owes a debt to the Russian collectors who amassed these works, & the Russian curators who have preserved them for posterity!

The French Rival ("Beverly Hills 90210" Novels)
Published in Paperback by Pan Macmillan (30 November, 1991)
Average review score:

NOT Based on an actual episode! This is a great book to read if you want something fresh and new from the show. It takes place during the high school years and is NOT based on an actual 90210 episode (much like "Fantasies"). It's a GREAT read if you are a Dylan/Brenda fan like me! The book is hard to find, but I have seen it on eBay many times. Well worth the search!
